TOP TEN SECRETS to Saving Big Money in the Airline Flights

Do you know that some people travel around the country and abroad, for both business and pleasure, and save bundles of money in the process? They do that by using little known ways of really taking advantage of the most popular form of transportation - airline flights. They don't rely on the ever-famous "airfare price-wars". They don't rely on their travel agents to save money while flying. Certainly, you should not dismiss these two methods. The price-wars can work to your advantage. But depending on them too much is a big mistake.
 1. Call the airlines. Call the airlines between midnight and 1 a.m. Monday through Friday to get cheaper tickets. Most people never realize that at midnight, airline agents revise and load new fares into their computers. The best fares are just after they have done the updating!

 2. Check into other airports other than the main one you use. Many major cities have two airports. Check into surrounding towns and cities so you can compare airfares. You may save hundreds of dollars on your flights.

 3. The early bird catches the plane. The earlier you book your flight the more you save. Most special fares have restrictions of 7 to 30 day advance purchase. Usually non-refundable but they can offer deep discounts. On the other hand, there are "last minute" deals too. Visit www.smartliving.com to get emails for last minute deals.

 4. Get out of town on Wednesday. Mid-week travel is usually less expensive. If you leave on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and stay over a Saturday night, you can garner terrific savings compared to Friday through Monday when most people fly. Start taking your vacations Wednesday-to-Wednesday or Tuesday-to-Tuesday. You'll save a lot by choosing your departure and arrival dates this way!

5. Buying a one way or split ticket. Let's say you travel from Boston to Dallas. It may be cheaper to get two separate tickets. You could buy one ticket from Boston to Nashville and one from Nashville to Dallas. It all depends on the connecting cities and your airlines hubs. Just tell your agent you are willing to travel out of other airports and connect using regional airports to save money. 6. Open wide. You should look into what is called an "Open-Jaw" ticket. These are used when a traveler is arriving and departing from different cities. One ticket is purchased to cover both cities. Check with your travel agent or airline representative to see if this trick is available instead of two one-way tickets. Compare the price of each.

 7. An excellent online service www.sidestep.com You enter destinations and dates and SideStep quickly searches a couple of dozen affiliated regional and international airlines to find the best rates.

8. "Code share". Ask your agent if this flight is a "code-share" flight. That means the same flight is offered by two different airlines. Just copy down the name of the other airline and check into what they are charging. Only one of the airlines is actually operating the flight. The actual operator always offers this flight for less, so book with them.

9. Sign up for the airline newsletters. From weekend getaways to international flight packages the newsletter saves you money on travel and doesn't require that you constantly visit the airline website for the latest offering. 10. The airlines often slash their fares during sluggish travel times. Scan your travel sections in the newspapers and talk to your agent about these low fares

Creative Ways Kids Can Make Money, Aug 14, 2013 / By Julia Scott

Let’s jump past the classic ways kids make money – mowing the neighbor’s lawn, walking dogs, selling lemonade, and babysitting – to newer ways kids can make money.
I guarantee you at least one of these following 11 ideas will be new to you. And your kid!

Social media lessons.

A tech-savvy teen can help others create social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube, and give a basic tutorial on how to use each site and what each one is good for.

Weeding a garden or flower bed.

If your child is already mowing someone’s lawn for hire, why not add weeding?
With a five-minute lesson, your junior or high school student will be equipped to sweat over someone else’s garden for cash.
Your kid may need to bring their own gloves, weeding tool, and container to collect weeds.

Personal assistant.

A responsible kid can run simple errands, like grocery shopping, mailing letters and packages, and picking up dry cleaning.
Many kids are also able to balance a checkbook, pay bills, file papers, sort mail, and place and fetch lunch orders.
Asking what a potential clients needs help with is a good way to start the conversation.

Basic house sitting.

Most doubt-digit kids are capable of bringing in the mail, turning on and off lights to make a house look lived in, and giving animals fresh food and water.
You can always do a dry-run before your trip.

Watering a garden or flower bed.

One of my first jobs was to water a neighbor’s garden while he was on a two-week trip to visit his grandkids.
This guy really cared about his ferns.

Deep cleaning.

Who looks forward to washing windows? A kid who wants to make money.
This chore, along with wiping down shelves, scrubbing cabinets, dusting trimwork, polishing silver, and dusting photographs are often neglected.
Not to mention many cleaning services don’t cover them!

Pet sit.

If your child already walks dogs for cash, why not offer to pet sit? I guarantee it will cheaper for the pet owners than to hire a service.

Homework help.

Teens can help younger kids with their homework by having a dedicated time to complete homework and to have someone there to answer questions.
You don’t have to be very many grades ahead to have mastered long division.
Plus, teaching is a great way for the older child to nail a task if they haven’t already. You can’t teach something you don’t know!

Coach.

If your child is athletic, why not have them share their sport skills with a younger child?
Sometimes a little extra attention – away from Mom and Dad’s competitive eye – can be all the practice a child needs to build confidence for a sport.

Private lessons.

Arts programs are often neglected in public schools, and hiring a professional for lessons is very expensive.
Teens with artistic talents have an opportunity to make a little money while sharing their talents with others.

Dinner helper.

My personal favorite. Hire a junior or high school student to prep dinner for you.
They can defrost meat, wash and chop vegetables, prep the rice, pasta, or potatoes, and even take inventory of your pantry and freezer so you know what you have on hand.

Money Beliefs

 Positive Belief About Money

 Positive Belief About Money

Our body and minds are stronger and more complexed than most people realize. We are capable of much more. People place too many limits on what they can do. Learning to believe in yourself and your abilities is a hard job that never ends. Although, it does get easier with time. You need to start pushing yourself. Attempting things that are just outside your ability. I know, your saying to yourself, "I push myself," or "I do my best," but I am still struggling with money issues, then you are still stuck in the old belief pattern. You have to believe you can go past your limits. By putting in the time and effort you WILL succeed. You have abundance. As you succeed, your confidence will grow. One of the best things about expanding your limits, is that things that used to be impossible, or out of reach or due to financial woes, can now be apart of your everyday life! By building the belief in your ability, you can accomplish anything in life.

Visualize a Sea of Abundance
As you are able to truly conceive of more, more will come into your life. Visualization is a brilliant tool. Meditate on your abundance. Meditation: is a time-honored technique that can take you into infinite dimensions of consciousness. It is a simple effort that becomes effortless as we do it more and more. One major principle to meditation is in the ability to completely quiet your mind. Meditation helps us live a healthier, less stressful life. The physical and psychological benefits are wonderful. The Universe can only distribute to you what you have in your consciousness and you can ALWAYS create more in your consciousness. The practice of meditation helps us temporarily let the physical world go so that we can begin to see ourselves as we truly are spiritually enlightened beings.

Gaining Abundance through Giving
like everything else in life, money ebbs and flows. Giving is the natural process that leads to the flow of receiving. Allowing yourself to "let go" and to give freely, creates more abundance than you can imagine. Holding and hording only halts the flow of energetic thought and therefore, the flowing of abundance.

Allow Yourself Pleasure
Give yourself pleasure with your money. You truly deserve it and if you don't think so, you need to go back and re-evaluate as to why you don't think you deserve it. Enjoy the spending of money. What old belief is stopping you? Change it!

Pay Your Bills With Great Thanks
if you feel resentment every time you have to pay a bill, the money will come back to you even slower. If you pay with love and joyfulness, you open the free flowing channel of abundance. Remember, a bill is an acknowledgment of your ability to pay. Some one gives you the product or the service first, entrusting you for good reason; that you are able, capable and a dependable person. So pay each bill with thanks and appreciation.

Make Room for Money
Cluttered space means a cluttered mind. Remove everything in your life that you do not absolutely LOVE. Making order out of chaos is the natural way of the Universe. Clutter means confusion and the fact that you do not have a handle on things. Money is one of those things. It is a hard concept to accept, but you will see, that once you clear the clutter, you open yourself and your environment up for new change.

Enough, Not More
Insatiability is the glutinous act of never having enough, never content with what you are given. We often buy what we don't need or want, but believe we should have it, as opposed to looking at what we really want and then moving toward it. The constant desire for more is not only damaging to us personally, but feeds into a greater belief that there is never enough to go around. Money is only a means of exchange. That is all.

Most Depressing Figure of the Day: What a Jersey Shore Cast Member Makes Each Year

Let’s begin this Thursday evening with an utterly depressing figure after which your night can only improve: in Forbes’s first-ever, completely necessary ranking of top-earning D.J.’s, the magazine reveals that Paul DelVecchio, better known as D.J. Pauly D on the MTV reality show Jersey Shore, has segued his stint dodging “grenades” (ugly females)/selling T-shirts/getting drunk on the Jersey boardwalk into an unnervingly lucrative career for someone who became famous for dodging “grenades”/selling T-shirts/getting drunk on national television. But how unnervingly lucrative? By Forbes’s calculations, DelVecchio, who is admittedly one of the more tolerable cast members on the intolerable MTV series, made $11 million over the past year. During that time, he played more than 130 gigs at an average of $40,000 a piece and opened for Britney Spears during her Femme Fatale tour. Adding to his income: his $100,000/episode paychecks for Jersey Shore, a clothing line (Dirty Couture), a tanning lotion (Pauly D Bronze Beats), and residencies at the Hard Rock in Vegas and Harrah’s in Atlantic City, the latter of which were announced early this year.
